Fluffy Homemade Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the buttermilk and honey, stirring until the dough comes together.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it’s no longer sticky.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they touch each other.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
